The National Urban League Incentives to Excel
and Succeed (NULITES) program enhances academic,
personal and social development in youth and
provides career exploration opportunities
and encourages problem solving and volunteerism.
At this years’ NULITIES Summit, students
will spend three days at one of Pittsburgh’s
local college campuses where they will attend
educational workshops, meet with local corporations,
and enjoy a fun-filled day at Kennywood Park.

For more than 90 years, the National Urban
League has convened annually to hold a four-day
conference for concerned individuals, educators,
social service providers, government, corporations,
not-for-profit organizations, foundations,
community leaders, young professionals, entrepreneurs,
aspiring business owners, advocates for civil
rights, religious leaders and professional
civic groups. The National Urban League has
selected Pittsburgh and the Urban League of
Pittsburgh to host the 2003 conference.
The Urban League of Pittsburgh is committed
and determined to create an exciting, educational
experience and for conference attendees who
are visiting, a real positive image of the
City of Pittsburgh, especially the African-American
community.
Under the leadership of the Urban League
of Pittsburgh’s President and CEO, Esther
L. Bush, the agency has embarked upon a campaign
to insure all conference attendees have an
opportunity to participate fully in the benefits
of being a part of this national opportunity.
This years conference will provide informative
sessions, numerous opportunities for networking,
opportunities for career advancement, CEU’s,
corporate marketing, discussion on government
policies and civic issues and general information
sharing.
Pittsburgh hopes to bring in some 3,500 delegates
and 10,000 participants and estimates that
several million dollars in spending will be
gained in the Greater Pittsburgh area.
Career Fair

The three-day Career Fair will be open to
registered attendees, as well as the general
public – a highly skilled talent pool and
future leaders from the African-American community.
There will be approximately 90 to 100 exhibit
booths and private interview booths. In addition
to the on-site event, exhibitors will be able
to access our national resume database. The
database will contain thousands of resumes
from eager applicants.
