8th Annual
Ronald H. Brown Leadership Banquet
- November 20, 2003|
Westin Convention Center
(former Doubletree Hotel)
downtown Pittsburgh
The Ronald H. Brown Leadership Banquet is
the major fundraising event of the year for
the League. All proceeds benefit the programs
and services of the Urban League of Pittsburgh.
The Urban League of Pittsburgh began holding
this banquet to honor the memory Ronald H.
Brown, the first African American and the
30th U.S. Secretary of Commerce who was killed
in a plane crash in 1996.
While he lived, Brown was a trailblazer who
epitomized the true spirit of the Urban League
movement. His inherent values and dedication
to the people, especially, African Americans,
serve as the defining mark of our event and
personifies stature, quality, and diversity.
