David M. O'Brien - Chairman of the Board David M. O達rien is currently executive vice president of government services for Highmark Inc. In this position, he provides strategic and tactical leadership for Senior Products, Highmark Medicare Services, as well as legislative and regulatory affairs.  Also, as a senior officer, he is responsible for participating in the strategic and business planning of the corporation. In addition, Mr. O達rien serves as president and chief executive officer for Keystone Health Plan West.  In addition, Mr. O達rien is also the executive director of the Highmark Caring Foundation. It is dedicated to improving the quality of life of children and their families, providing grief support to families who have experienced a death, and care coordination to children with special health care needs. These programs and services are provided, at no cost to the families, by the Highmark Caring Foundation in the communities Highmark serves. Prior to his position in Individual Products, Mr. O達rien was executive vice president of health services at Highmark Inc. In this role, O達rien provided strategic and tactical leadership in directing the development and implementation of goals, objectives, operating plans, policies and management direction for Highmark痴 Health Services Group, including Provider Affairs, Health Care Management Services, Quality Management, Alliance Ventures and the Insurer Physicians Service Organization.  Before joining Highmark in 1998, Mr. O達rien served as president and chief executive officer of Gateway Health Plan, LTD, and president of Alliance Ventures, Inc. Mr. O達rien is very active on several community organizations.  He is the former chairman of the Catholic Charities of Pittsburgh, and currently is chairman of the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh board as well as a board member for the greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce. Mr. O達rien received his Bachelor痴 Degree from John Carroll University and his Master痴 Degree from Robert Morris University.
